ABOUT GABY KOMPALIK

My name is Gaby Kompalik and I’m a lifelong health practitioner and nurse. I became interested in complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM) in 1987 while living and travelling in China. At the time, all I knew about was Western Medicine which usually involved a trip to your General Practitioner where, in many cases, you are prescribed an assortment of drugs without getting to the root of the problem.

While I was in China, my hunger for knowledge about alternative medicine had started to grow. While I was staying in the Yunnan province in Southwest China, I heard about Dr. Ho, a local well-known herbalist doctor. I hired a bicycle and eventually found my way to the house and clinic of Dr. Ho (remember, this was 1987!). Dr. Ho advised me on various Chinese herbs to treat my father who was chronically ill at the time. He was such an inspiring and knowledgeable individual that I decided there and then that once I finished my travels, I would begin to study Chinese Medicine.

After travelling extensively for 10 years throughout South East Asia, picking up on the way various alternative practices in India, Indonesia and Thailand, I came to England and began my studies as a masseur, followed by acupuncture and development courses. During this time I became very interested in specializing in fertility treatment so I attended my first course in fertility treatments for women. At the time, one of my good friends confided in me that her and her partner had tried for two years unsuccessfully to conceive a baby. I told her about my course and asked her if she would like to be my ‘guinea pig’. After a short series of treatments, she fell pregnant and we were all over the moon.

Through word of mouth, more clients came to me and I can proudly say that up to now my success rate is 90% (see testimonials). I practice a holistic multi-therapy approach to balance and prepare the body for conception and also to prevent miscarriage. My philosophy is that I believe you can balance the body with different Chinese and Korean treatments to make your womb a habitable place where the baby can grow.
